Welcome to Glendale Watch. Our Mission is to watch the City Council closely, publicize when they refuse to listen to their constituents with respect to OVERDEVELOPMENT in Glendale (from overly large condo projects in the flat lands, and variances for substandard lots and mansions in the hills), and to let the public know which councilmen seem to be on the developer’s payroll so we can remember for the next election.
We don’t want the hills of Glendale to end up looking like Silverlake (picture at right), and the City Council isn’t stopping with the overdevelopment of our hillsides -- they are ALSO busily approving HUNDREDS of condominiums in Downtown Glendale and other areas. If you don’t like the traffic now, wait a few years and it will be so bad you won’t be able to move!
While Glendale has many problems and lots of things to complain about when it comes to the City Council, our focus is on overdevelopment. We want to let the public know how beholden the City Council is to developers, and get the word out so they can be held accountable during the April 2007 elections. We seriously need some new blood in City Hall!
